Esperance concluded their Tunisian league campaign with a goalless draw against US Monastir at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades on Thursday.
The match, part of the final round of the season, saw both teams secure important outcomes, with Esperance wrapping up their title-winning campaign and US Monastir booking their place in next season’s CAF Champions League.
The home side, already crowned champions after the previous round, ended the season at the top of the table with 66 points.
Despite controlling possession and creating numerous chances, they struggled to find a breakthrough against a resolute Monastir defense.
Monastir, meanwhile, reached 62 points, securing the second Champions League spot alongside Esperance.
The result capped a successful season for the visitors, who have shown consistency throughout the campaign.
The match was played in a carnival-like atmosphere, with Esperance fans celebrating their title success by lighting fireworks in the stands.
These celebrations caused multiple stoppages in play, adding to the tension of the contest.
In a separate fixture on the same day, AS Soliman secured a 1-0 victory over Stade Tunisien. Amanallah Moujahid scored the only goal of the match in the 82nd minute, lifting Soliman to 27 points and 13th place in the standings.
