Emmanuel Gyabuaa: Catania eye move for Italy-Ghana midfielder from Salernitana

Italy-Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Gyabuaa of Salernitana is being linked with a move to fellow Serie C side Catania as uncertainty over his contract status fuels summer transfer speculation.

The 24-year-old central midfielder only joined Salernitana from Atalanta U23 on 1 July 2026, but Transfermarkt reports interest from Catania in a deal whose probability is currently listed as unknown (?). With no contract expiry date publicly available, it is unclear whether Gyabuaa could be available on a cutprice deal later in the window or potentially move on as a free agent further down the line.

Born in Parma on 21 September 2001 and standing at 1.75m, Gyabuaa has spent his entire career in Italy, progressing through Atalantas youth ranks after leaving Parmas academy in 2015. A rightfooted central midfielder, he has represented Atalanta at U17, Primavera and U23 level and featured on loan for Perugia, Pescara and Avellino before Salernitana made his latest switch permanent.

Both Salernitana and Catania compete in Serie C Girone C, making a move relatively straightforward from a regulatory standpoint, though no fee or formal negotiations have been disclosed. Gyabuaas current market value is listed at 500,000, a figure that would represent a modest outlay for Catania if they decide to test Salernitanas resolve.

His valuation has fluctuated around that level in recent seasons, having peaked at 650,000 during his spell with Atalantas Primavera and Perugia before stabilising at 500,000 across spells with Pescara, Atalanta U23, Avellino and now Salernitana. Recent campaign data underline his status as a squadlevel option in the Italian lower leagues rather than a headline name, but his consistent presence across multiple clubs in Serie B and C has kept him on the radar of ambitious sides.

With both clubs rebuilding in Italys third tier, any move to Catania would offer Gyabuaa another opportunity to consolidate his reputation as a reliable central midfielder in the professional game.
