The Barea of Madagascar will face the Cranes of Uganda in the first leg of the African Cup of Nations preliminaries without their star player, Bolida. The Malagasy midfielder will be unavailable for selection as he is retained by Racing Club de Lens for the final matchday of Ligue 2.
Racing Club de Lens, in a favorable position for promotion to Ligue 1, aims to retain all its key players, thus preventing Bolida from joining the national team. Additionally, there are reports of an injury to Mamy Gervais.
Despite these setbacks, coach Franck Rajaonarisalba can rely on a mix of expatriate and local players for the crucial match. Expatriates such as Jordan, Carolus, Ibrahim, Ima Faneva, Baggio, Dafé, Gladyson, and Johan Paul will join forces with local talents including Chrétien-Tobisoa, Pierralit, François, Zénith-Dina, Mika-Njiva, Rinho, and Jimmy-Fabrice.
