Madagascar’s national team, the Barea, faces a challenging start to their Africa Cup of Nations preliminary campaign as they will be without key midfielder Bolida for the first leg against Uganda. Bolida, who plays for Racing Club de Lens, is being held back by his club for the crucial final day of the Ligue 2 season, with Lens eyeing promotion to Ligue 1.
Adding to the setbacks, midfielder Mamy Gervais has also been ruled out due to injury. Despite these absences, coach Franck Rajaonarisalba will still be able to rely on a solid core of players, including several expatriates like Carolus, Ibrahim, Ima Faneva, and Baggio, alongside locally-based talents such as Chrétien, Tobisoa, and Mika-Njiva.
The match against the Uganda Cranes will test Madagascar’s squad depth and ability to adapt under pressure.
