RB Leipzig have handed El Chadaille Bitshiabu a new contract that keeps the powerful French-Congolese defender at the club until 2029.
The announcement signals strong belief in the 20-year-old’s growth and importance to their future backline.
Since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023 for €15 million plus €5 million in potential add-ons, Bitshiabu has grown into a trusted figure in Leipzig’s setup. He featured 28 times last season across all competitions, underlining his role despite a few disciplinary stumbles, including two yellow cards and one red.
The club’s decision to secure him long-term comes after a solid Bundesliga campaign, where Leipzig finished fourth and earned another shot at European competition. Bitshiabu offers height, strength, and calm under pressure, qualities Leipzig clearly want to build around as they prepare for the 2025/26 season.
By extending his stay early, Leipzig have moved smartly to fend off future interest and add stability to a defensive unit aiming to compete on multiple fronts in the coming years.
