Eintracht Frankfurt receives injury boost as Jeremiaha Maluze returns to training
Eintracht Frankfurt have been handed a welcome fitness boost with Jeremiaha Maluze returning to team training on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old centre-back had been sidelined by a thigh problem, which was later followed by an illness. His absence also meant he missed Frankfurt’s heavy 6-0 defeat to RB Leipzig.
According to Hessenschau, Maluze trained alongside the rest of the squad and could now be considered for Frankfurt’s upcoming Bundesliga fixture against FC Köln. Whether he is ready to start after his layoff, however, remains to be seen.
His return comes at a useful time for head coach Adi Hütter, who is weighing up his defensive options ahead of the Köln match. Maluze gives the coach another choice at the heart of the back line, adding competition and depth to the squad.
Frankfurt will be keen to put the Leipzig result behind them, and having Maluze available again should help stabilise their defensive planning. The club currently has no further injury concerns.
The young defender will now aim to build up his match sharpness and push for a place in the matchday squad.
