Djylian N’Guessan on the radar of Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt have reportedly opened discussions to sign highly rated French teenager Djylian N’Guessan from AS Saint-Étienne.

The 17-year-old forward, who is France and Ivory Coast roots is widely regarded as one of the brightest emerging talents in French football, attracting growing attention across Europe despite spending much of last season on the fringes of the Saint-Étienne first team.

N’Guessan, who is still in the early stages of his professional career, made only five senior appearances during the campaign but managed to score once, offering glimpses of his potential at top level.

His development has continued to impress at international youth level, where he has already represented France’s U20 side after excelling with both the U16 and U17 teams. His rapid progression has placed him firmly on the radar of several major European clubs.

Earlier in the season, Saint-Étienne resisted strong interest in the young forward, with reports indicating that Chelsea submitted an €8 million bid in January. However, the Ligue 1 club rejected the offer as they aimed to secure an immediate return to the top flight following relegation.

That promotion push ultimately fell short, and with financial and sporting realities now shifting, departures are expected at the club this summer. N’Guessan is among those who could be allowed to leave if the right offer arrives.

Eintracht Frankfurt are now understood to be leading the race, with negotiations reportedly underway as they look to strengthen their squad with one of Europe’s most promising young attackers.

The German club have built a strong reputation for developing young talent in recent years, making them an attractive destination for emerging prospects seeking regular playing time and structured development.

N’Guessan’s current contract situation could also influence the deal, with his Saint-Étienne agreement set to expire next summer. This places the French club in a position where they may have to consider a sale this window to avoid losing him for a reduced fee later on.

With interest growing and talks already underway, the coming weeks could be decisive in determining whether the teenage forward makes a high-profile move to the Bundesliga or continues his development in France.
