Egypt Capital Cup: Al Ahly come under early pressure from Al Mokawloon

Al Ahly were forced to build from deep as Al Mokawloon applied intensive pressure in the opening stages of their Egypt Capital Cup group-stage match.

Al Ahly players attempted to progress the ball from the defensive half, but Al Mokawloon’s advanced press made it difficult to move possession forward.

Ahmed Reda was penalised for a foul close to Al Ahly’s defensive penalty area.

A further free-kick was awarded against Al Ahly’s Hady Riyad in the defensive midfield area after his challenge on Idrissa Tiam.

The first half then got under way.
