Durban City and Stellenbosch held to goalless draw in Betway Premiership

Durban City and Stellenbosch could not find a breakthrough as they played out a goalless draw in the Betway Premiership.

The result means Durban City have drawn three of their past five matches. Their record during that run also includes one victory and one defeat, leaving the home side with a mixed sequence of results.

Stellenbosch, meanwhile, recorded their second stalemate of the season. The Western Cape club have now also registered one win and suffered two defeats.

Stellenbosch made the brighter start at the stadium and created the first clear opportunity of the match. George Matlou reacted quickest to a loose ball and tried to take advantage, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.

Opportunities broke down through inaccurate finishing and a lack of quality in the decisive moments. The match therefore ended without a goal, with Durban City and Stellenbosch each taking a point from a contest in which the two sides struggled to turn promising situations into clear chances.

For Durban City, it was another draw in a season that has so far produced only one win alongside three draws and one defeat across their past five matches. Stellenbosch’s second stalemate leaves them with one victory, two losses and two draws for the season.
