Djibril Gueye: Senegal teenage centre-back makes Sporting B switch

Senegal centre-back Djibril Gueye has joined Sporting B from CD Leganes B, completing a move that takes the 19-year-old to Portugal’s Liga Portugal 2.

Gueye, who is 1.95m tall and right-footed, changes clubs on 1 September 2026 after spending the previous season with Leganes’ B team. The defender joined CD Leganes B from Leganes Under-19s on 1 July 2025, making Sporting B his third recorded club.

The move gives Gueye a new setting in Portugal after his time in Spain. His playing record includes four appearances across the Copa del Rey, LaLiga2 and the promotion play-offs for the Segunda Federacion, with 355 minutes on the pitch.

He featured twice in the Copa del Rey, playing 180 minutes in the competition, and also appeared once in LaLiga2. His other recorded outing came in the promotion play-offs, where he played 92 minutes.

Gueye’s arrival adds a young Senegalese defender to Sporting B’s squad. He can operate centrally in defence and brings a physical presence through his height, while his preferred right foot provides a clear indication of his natural side in the back line.

His move follows a single season at CD Leganes B, where he arrived after progressing from Leganes Under-19s. That pathway has now taken him from the Spanish set-up to Sporting’s B side, which competes in Portugal’s second tier.

The transfer was completed on 1 September 2026, with Gueye leaving CD Leganes B to join Sporting B.
