Saudi Pro League side Damac have completed the signing of Moroccan defender Jamal Harkas, with the deal finalised under the supervision of club president Khaled Al-Mushait.

The 29-year-old becomes the latest addition to Damac’s squad as the club continues to strengthen ahead of the new season.

Harkas arrives with a wealth of experience from Moroccan football, having represented two of the country’s most prestigious clubs, Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca.

His time with these giants of African football not only sharpened his skills domestically but also gave him exposure to continental competitions, establishing him as one of the most dependable defenders of his generation.

Damac’s decision to bring in Harkas reflects a clear intent to reinforce their defensive unit.

The Saudi side has made squad stability a priority, and adding a player of Harkas’s calibre provides both leadership and resilience at the back.

Known for his composure and tactical awareness, he is expected to add much-needed balance to the team’s defensive line as they prepare for a challenging campaign.

The Moroccan himself expressed his delight at joining the club, stating his eagerness to rise to the expectations placed upon him.

I want to give everything for the team and meet the ambitions of the coach, the management, and the supporters, he said. His words underline a determination to make his mark quickly and contribute to the club’s wider goals.

For Damac, this signing marks more than just an addition to the roster; it represents a move towards building a squad capable of competing consistently at the top level.

With Harkas bringing both experience and a strong competitive spirit, the club hopes to stabilise its backline and achieve greater solidity throughout the season.

As the Saudi Pro League continues to attract players with proven track records, Harkas’s arrival is another sign of the competition’s growing profile.

For the player, it is an opportunity to open a new chapter in his career, while for Damac, it is a step towards strengthening a team eager to meet the challenges that lie ahead.

The signing adds further depth to a squad already in transition, and with Harkas now on board, Damac will be looking to translate their transfer ambitions into results on the pitch.
