Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Juventus tracking Ajax teenager Abdellah Ouazane

Abdellah Ouazane has attracted interest from four of Europe’s leading clubs, with Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Juventus all monitoring the Ajax Amsterdam teenager, according to 4-4-2.ch.

The 17-year-old Morocco international prospect is continuing his development in the Netherlands and has already drawn attention from scouts because of his potential. He has been used regularly in the Eredivisie and is regarded as one of Ajax Amsterdam’s most promising young players.

Ouazane primarily operates on the left side of the attack, although he can also play as a central attacking midfielder. That ability to contribute in more than one position is understood to be an important part of his appeal to the clubs following his progress.

Ajax hoping to retain Ouazane

Ajax Amsterdam are not believed to want to lose the youngster and are hoping to extend his contract. His current deal runs until June 2028, but the club intends to discuss fresh terms after his 18th birthday on 15 January next year.

However, negotiations could be complicated by the financial demands made by the player’s representatives. According to the report, Ouazane’s representatives are seeking an annual salary of between €4m and €5m.

Such a figure would have a significant impact on Ajax Amsterdam’s wage structure. It is also understood to have given sporting director Jordi Cruyff cause for hesitation as the club considers whether to meet those demands.

The possibility of a move to one of Europe’s major leagues therefore remains open, although no transfer has been officially confirmed. Ouazane’s market value is estimated at €8m.

Ajax Amsterdam are due to face AZ Alkmaar in their next fixture, in the 11th round of the Dutch championship. The reported betting prices for the match list Ajax Amsterdam at 1.61 to win, with a draw priced at 4.00 and an AZ Alkmaar victory at 3.60.
