Carling Knockout: Orlando Pirates face Milford FC in Last 32 draw

The Carling Knockout Last 32 fixtures have been confirmed after the draw was held on Wednesday evening, with defending champions Orlando Pirates included among the teams awaiting their opening matches.

South African football turns its attention to the competition following the conclusion of the MTN8 over the weekend, with the Carling Knockout the second domestic cup on the calendar.

Orlando Pirates lifted the trophy last season after beating Marumo Gallants 1-0 in the final. The Buccaneers are again among the leading names in the draw as they begin their defence.

Details accompanying the draw described Pirates as being handed a home tie against newly promoted Kruger United. However, the published fixture list shows Orlando Pirates facing Milford FC.

Kruger United were also listed as hosts to AmaZulu FC, who have made an impressive start to their Betway Premiership campaign. The newly promoted side therefore features in the draw details as both an opponent for Pirates and a home team against AmaZulu FC.

Kaizer Chiefs will welcome TS Galaxy in their opening tie. Chiefs were eliminated in the first round of the competition last season.

The Premier Soccer League will announce the dates and venues for the Last 32 matches at a later stage.
