The Cape Verde national football team, famously known as the Blue Sharks, is poised to bolster its squad with the addition of two new dual nationals, David Pereira Da Costa and Joel Monteiro. The decision by these players to don the green cap signifies a significant enhancement to the team’s roster as they prepare for upcoming international fixtures.

David Pereira Da Costa, a midfielder for RC Lens, and Joel Monteiro, a striker for Young Boys in Switzerland, have reportedly opted to represent Cape Verde for the remainder of their international careers.

This decision expands the family of dual nationals who have chosen to join the ranks of the Blue Sharks, bringing added depth and talent to the squad.

While David Pereira Da Costa’s inclusion was anticipated during the previous FIFA window, he was ultimately not selected for the national team.

However, the upcoming June fixtures are expected to see him join his new teammates, having fulfilled the necessary administrative requirements to represent Cape Verde.

Despite previously featuring for the Portugal U21 team, Pereira Da Costa is now set to bring his skills and experience to the Blue Sharks’ midfield.

Joining Pereira Da Costa in bolstering Cape Verde’s attacking prowess is Joel Monteiro, who plies his trade as a center forward for Young Boys in the Swiss Super League.

The 24-year-old, who hails from Sion and boasts Cape Verdean heritage, has enjoyed a prolific season, netting 8 goals and providing valuable contributions to his club.

His decision to commit to Cape Verde adds further firepower to the Blue Sharks’ frontline, enhancing their prospects in future competitions.

As Cape Verde prepares to welcome these dual nationals into their fold, anticipation builds within the footballing community to see how their inclusion will strengthen the team’s performances on the international stage.

With both players bringing a blend of skill, talent, and determination, the Blue Sharks are poised to make waves in upcoming fixtures, backed by the addition of Pereira Da Costa and Monteiro to their ranks.
