Canada thrash Tanzania 6-0 to reach Women’s Under-20 World Cup knockout stage

Canada secured their place in the final stages of the Women’s Under-20 World Cup with a dominant 6-0 victory over Tanzania on Friday, 11 September 2026.

The result came on the third matchday of the group stage at Arena Katowice, as Canada produced a commanding performance to confirm their progress to the competition’s final phase.

Canada took the lead early in the first half before overwhelming Tanzania after the interval. Chukwu added two more goals in the 54th and 66th minutes, while Chisholm struck in the 49th minute.

Hunter scored in the 76th minute, with Larouche and Tarasco completing the emphatic win in the 77th and 85th minutes respectively.

Tanzania were unable to respond to Canada’s attacking threat and struggled throughout against their opponents’ sustained pressure. Canada also controlled possession, finishing the match with 60%.

The winners’ superiority was further underlined by their 21 attempts on goal as they completed a decisive victory in Group-stage action.
