The Tunisian media found itself captivated by several new names revealed by Sami Trabelsi this Tuesday. The coach of the Eagles of Carthage has summoned four fresh faces for the upcoming decisive match in the CAN 2013 qualifying round. Notably, Khaled Souissi, the defender from Club Africain, caught Trabelsi’s attention despite having played only four matches with his club this season. Additionally, Zied Jebali from AS Marsa has earned a spot in the squad.
Fakhreddine Ben Youssef (CS Sfax) and Abdelkader Oueslati (Atletico Madrid) are among the promising newcomers identified by the former international player. This marks Oueslati’s debut call-up to the Tunisian national team. Alongside these surprises, Trabelsi has included Zouhaier Dhaouadi (Evian Thonon-Gaillard), making his return to the selection. Notably absent from the coach’s group are Bilel Iffa and Sami Allagui.
Having secured a 2-goal victory in the first leg in Freetown, the Carthage Eagles aim to confirm their success, this time on home turf, against Sierra Leone on October 13 at the Mustapha Ben Jannet stadium in Tunis.
