Cameroonian international André-Frank Zambo Anguissa set for contract extension
Napoli midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa is on the verge of signing a new deal with the Serie A side that will see his annual salary rise to €4m, according to journalist Nicolo Schira.
The Cameroonian international, whose importance to the Italian champions has grown steadily since his arrival, is expected to put pen to paper on a contract running until June 2028.
The deal also includes an option for an additional year.
Currently earning €3.46m per season, Anguissa will see his wages increase significantly under the new agreement.
The 29-year-old is valued at around €27m on the transfer market, reflecting his stature as one of Napoli’s key figures in midfield.
Since joining the club, Anguissa has become central to Napoli’s style of play, known for his strength in possession, tactical awareness and ability to transition quickly between defence and attack.
His influence has been clear again this season, with five competitive appearances yielding one goal and two assists.
Napoli have long been keen to secure the midfielder’s long-term future, with discussions over an extension ongoing in recent weeks.
The imminent announcement marks a major step in the club’s efforts to retain core players who played decisive roles in their recent domestic success.
The expected renewal will provide stability for both parties.
For Napoli, it ensures the continued services of a player whose presence in midfield is considered indispensable.
For Anguissa, the agreement rewards his consistency and commitment since arriving in Naples, solidifying his status as a cornerstone of the squad.
The Partenopei are preparing for their Serie A matchday five clash against AC Milan, a fixture that could prove pivotal in shaping the early title race.
Anguissa is set to feature again, as coach Walter Mazzarri looks to count on his influence in a demanding encounter.
With the contract close to finalisation, Anguissa is poised to extend his stay in Naples for at least the next four seasons, strengthening his role in the club’s long-term ambitions both domestically and in Europe.
