Bryan Mbeumo is set to make his first appearance for Manchester United this Sunday, August 3, as the Red Devils conclude their pre-season campaign with a friendly against Everton.

The Cameroonian international, who officially joined United on July 21, 2025, has yet to feature in a match under new manager Ruben Amorim.

However, the Portuguese coach has now confirmed that Mbeumo will finally don the Manchester United shirt for the first time this weekend, marking a significant step in his integration into the squad.

“He’s going to play,” Amorim stated confidently when asked about Mbeumo’s status. “I’m really excited to see him play and see what he can bring to our team.”

While the manager did not confirm whether the 25-year-old forward would be included in the starting line-up or come off the bench, his words suggest a strong vote of confidence in Mbeumo’s potential impact.

The match against Everton will provide a key opportunity for the former Brentford attacker to show what he can offer ahead of the new Premier League season.

Having only recently linked up with his new teammates, Mbeumo has been gradually working his way into full match fitness. Despite his late arrival into the squad’s preparations, Amorim appears eager to integrate the pacey forward as quickly as possible into United’s attacking plans.

The Cameroonian’s transfer to Old Trafford has generated significant interest, as fans look forward to seeing how he adapts to a new environment and system under Amorim, who took charge of United earlier this summer.

Known for his high-intensity pressing and tactical flexibility, Amorim’s style could be a perfect match for Mbeumo’s energetic and direct approach to the game.

For Mbeumo, the upcoming friendly is more than just a warm-up—it is a first audition in front of the club’s supporters and a chance to stake his claim for a regular role in the starting eleven.

With competition for places high, a strong showing against Everton could be crucial in earning the manager’s trust ahead of United’s Premier League opener.

Although Amorim has been measured in his handling of new signings, he appears particularly enthusiastic about Mbeumo’s abilities. “We believe he adds a dynamic edge to our attacking options. He’s versatile, intelligent, and works incredibly hard,” the manager added.

The Red Devils’ final pre-season clash will also serve as a last chance for Amorim to fine-tune his lineup and tactics before the competitive season begins.

For Mbeumo, it will be the moment to officially begin his Manchester United journey, one that fans hope will add new firepower to the club’s ambitions both domestically and in Europe.

With anticipation building, all eyes will be on the Cameroonian as he prepares to step onto the pitch at Old Trafford for the first time, ready to make his mark in red.
