CAF secures new media and TV rights deals for 2024-25 African club competitions
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has finalized new media and TV rights agreements for the 2024/25 season of its Interclub Competitions.
These deals secure broadcasting across Sub-Saharan Africa, offering coverage on both pay TV and free-to-air channels.
The agreements cover Africa’s top club tournaments, including:
TotalEnergies CAF Champions League
TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup
CAF Women’s Champions League
TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup
Following a competitive bidding process, CAF has partnered with key broadcasters:
SuperSport International – Pay TV rights (English)
South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) – Free-to-Air rights
Azam Media – Free-to-Air rights
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe emphasized the growing interest in African football, which has attracted major broadcasters.
He welcomed the new partners, who now join existing CAF media rights holders, reaffirming CAF’s commitment to delivering high-quality competitions and broadcasts.
This announcement comes amid a significant rise in viewership.
The 2023/24 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League saw a 25% increase in TV audiences in North Africa, with even higher growth in East and Southern Africa, where TV viewership and digital engagement surged by over 40%.
