Al Ahly tactician Marcel Koller has stressed the importance of facing Algerian CR Belouizdad in the CAF Champions League.
The Algerian outfit will play host to the record Champions League holders at the 5th July stadium on Friday, January 3, 2025 in the fourth round of the group stage in Group C.
Belouizdad succumbed to a 6-1 defeat to Al Ahly in the first leg , making the return fixture a tough one for the Algerian club.
Speaking ahead of the clash, the Swiss tactician affirmed his outfit are seeking to overcome Belouizdad in an attempt to secure qualification to the quarter-finals.
“Chabab Belouizdad created many problems for us in the first half of the first leg, and things will be different tomorrow, especially since they will be playing on their home ground and among their fans.”
“Belouizdad is a good team and plays good football, and this was evident in its previous matches despite losing to us (1-6) and to South African Orlando Pirates (1-2),”
Ahly tops the group with 7 points, followed by Orlando with 5 points, then CR Belouizdad with 3 points, and finally Stade d’Abidjan with one
