Issa Kaboré returns to Manchester City after Wrexham loan

Burkina Faso international Issa Kaboré has returned to Manchester City following the end of his loan spell at Wrexham AFC after an impressive campaign in England’s second division.

The 24-year-old enjoyed regular playing time during his season with Wrexham, helping the club finish seventh in the league standings while establishing himself as an important figure in the squad.

Kaboré made 32 appearances across the campaign, contributing eight assists and accumulating 2,302 minutes on the pitch during his temporary stay away from Manchester City.

Wrexham confirmed the end of the loan arrangement through a message posted on Instagram, bringing an official close to the Burkinabe defender’s time at the club.

The agreement between both sides did not include an option to make the move permanent, meaning Kaboré now returns to Manchester City, where he remains under contract until June 30, 2027.

Despite his return to the Premier League champions, uncertainty remains over the next step in the player’s career.

Reports indicate that Manchester City are yet to decide on the future of the Burkina Faso international as interest continues to grow around the defender following his performances in England.

A possible return to France has already emerged as one of the options being discussed, with a move to ES Troyes AC reportedly under consideration.

Several other clubs are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely as they assess the possibility of making a move for the player during the transfer window.

Kaboré, who represents Burkina Faso’s national team, has continued to build his reputation through a series of loan spells in recent seasons while remaining tied to Manchester City.

His performances at Wrexham have further strengthened his profile after a campaign in which he combined defensive work with attacking contributions from wide areas.

The defender’s current market value is estimated at four million euros, adding further attention to his situation as discussions over his future continue.

For now, Kaboré returns to Manchester City with no final decision yet taken regarding where he will play next season.
