Brazil and Spain meet again with history still level before Women’s U-20 World Cup quarter-final

Brazil and Spain will face one another for only the second time in their history when they meet in the 2026 Women’s U-20 World Cup quarter-final.

Their only previous encounter took place on 10 August 2022, during the group stage of the Women’s U-20 World Cup.

Neither side was able to break the deadlock in that match, which finished 0-0 after 90 minutes.

This quarter-final will therefore bring a new dimension to the fixture. Unlike in 2022, a draw cannot allow both teams to continue in the competition together: only one of Brazil or Spain will reach the semi-finals.
