Borussia Dortmund agree early release for Felix Paschke as injuries force 23-year-old to retire
Borussia Dortmund and midfielder Felix Paschke have mutually agreed to end his contract early, allowing the 23-year-old to bring his playing career to a close because of persistent injury problems.
Paschke joined Dortmund from Hamburg in 2024, but a series of injuries restricted his involvement during his two seasons with the club.
His last appearance in Dortmund’s yellow and black came in January 2025, when he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He has not played since and has also dealt with several other injuries.
Dortmund announced the agreement through their official social-media accounts.
“ I would like to thank my team-mates, coaches and officials, as well as the entire medical staff and all the club’s employees, for the support they have given me over the years,” said Paschke.
“I felt completely comfortable from the beginning and received a great deal of support, even during my long period out with injury. That enabled me to give everything in my efforts to return to the pitch.
“I wish everyone all the best and will continue to follow the progress of my team with interest in the future.”
Paschke could play in midfield or at centre-back. He came through the ranks at Hamburg before joining Borussia Dortmund’s reserve side on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.
He did not make a single appearance for Borussia Dortmund’s first team.
