Bayern Munich rule out move for Manchester City midfielder Rayan Cherki

Bayern Munich have ruled out a move for Manchester City attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki, according to Christian Falk, despite recent reports linking the France international with a transfer to Germany.

Cherki has been mentioned as a possible target for the Bavarian club in recent weeks. However, Falk reports that the Franco-Algerian is not among Bayern’s priorities for the next transfer window and that no negotiations are taking place between Manchester City and the German side.

The reports of Bayern’s interest are therefore unlikely to lead to a transfer, with the club said to have rejected the possibility of pursuing the player.

Bayern focused on summer recruitment

Bayern’s position is also understood to reflect their wider transfer strategy. The club intend to concentrate their spending on the summer window and do not want to alter that approach during the season.

A January signing would only be considered if Bayern faced an absolute necessity, such as a serious injury crisis that significantly reduced their squad options. Otherwise, the club plan to stick to their timetable and wait until the summer before making major moves in the market.

That approach leaves Cherki waiting for any potential opportunity to join Bayern. For now, the Manchester City player is not considered a priority and there is no operation being planned between the two clubs.

Cherki’s technical ability and his capacity to play behind the striker may continue to attract interest from leading European clubs. But Bayern are currently not among the teams preparing a move for him.
