Bayern Munich have stepped in to secure the signing of rising Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim from Al Ahly, setting the stage for a bold investment in youth talent.
The 17-year-old striker impressed during the North African Under-17 Championship and further boosted his stock at the recent African Junior Cup of Nations in Morocco. His standout displays for Egypt’s youth side quickly put him on the radar of Europe’s elite.
A source at Al Ahly confirmed that the German giants submitted an official offer three days ago, with talks ongoing over the fee and resale clause.
“Al Ahly is working in the interest of the young player and the club at the same time,” the source said.
The bid is a firm offer to buy, not a trial deal, signaling Bayern’s serious intent. While interest has also come verbally from Manchester United and Marseille, only Bayern have made contact through official channels.
Abdelkarim has already joined Al Ahly’s first team and is on their preliminary squad list for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S.
