Barcelona have five transfer issues to resolve before the deadline, with Gabriel Jesus set to arrive from Arsenal and several players still waiting to learn their futures.

Barcelona have completed most of their summer business, but sporting director Deco faces a busy final 48 hours before the transfer window closes.

The Catalan club have worked to strengthen Hansi Flick’s squad while also generating income from players who are not part of the German manager’s immediate plans. According to Sport, however, several outstanding matters remain to be settled before the window shuts.

Gabriel Jesus deal agreed

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Gabriel Jesus for about €10m, plus add-ons and performance-related incentives.

The deal is considered complete, with the Brazil forward expected to become a Barcelona player once he passes his medical. The move follows the failure to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, but Barcelona were unwilling to commit a major fee to an alternative option.

The club’s plans for goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic are directly linked to the situation involving Alvarez and, more specifically, financial fair play regulations.

Barcelona do not intend to register Livakovic until they have a clearer understanding of whether Alvarez could still arrive or whether Gabriel Jesus will be the club’s number nine. They do not want to use part of their available wage capacity on a goalkeeper if that space is required to register the forward.

If no new striker arrives, or if Barcelona are able to register both players, the club’s sporting plan is for Livakovic to remain in the squad this season and begin working immediately as the second-choice goalkeeper. If that is not possible, he is expected to leave on loan.

Balde could be involved in Inter talks

Alejandro Balde had been expected to stay at Barcelona and fight to regain his starting place under Flick. However, Sport reports that Deco is working on a potential exchange deal with Inter Milan involving Federico Dimarco.

The arrival of Joao Cancelo, combined with Espart’s impressive form, has created a more complicated situation for Balde. A move to Serie A could now alter the Spain international’s plans.

Barcelona will not force Balde to leave, but the club is expected to be open with him about the role he would receive if he remains. Flick has already discussed the matter with him privately and in press conferences.

Casado expected to leave permanently

Marc Casado, who has been left out of the first-team group for several weeks, has several possible destinations as he looks to bring his time at Barcelona to an end.

Besiktas are among the clubs most interested in signing the midfielder, although Casado’s preference is to move to one of Europe’s major leagues. Clubs from the Saudi Pro League have also approached him, but that option has not fully appealed to the player.

His future is expected to be decided in the final moments of the transfer window, with current indications pointing towards a permanent transfer rather than a loan.

Guille Fernandez negotiations continue

Following confirmation of Toni Fernandez’s move to Venezia and Alvaro Cortes’s transfer to Royal Antwerp, both of which are awaiting official announcements, Guille Fernandez is the next Barcelona academy graduate being lined up for departure.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, has already spent several days negotiating with Barcelona over the terms of the player’s exit. Fernandez’s potential has attracted interest from a number of clubs, particularly in the Premier League and Bundesliga.

All parties want to complete an agreement, but some details remain unresolved. Barcelona are demanding that they retain a significant percentage of the player’s economic rights and want a buy-back clause set at a favourable price.

The club initially considered extending Fernandez’s contract for a longer period while sending him out on loan. Instead, it has opted for the model used with several other academy players this summer: a permanent sale with Barcelona keeping part of the player’s rights and including a buy-back option.
