Barcelona cruise past Feyenoord as Raphinha and Yamal shine in Champions League

Barcelona defeated Feyenoord 5-1 in the Champions League league phase, with Raphinha scoring twice and Lamine Yamal, Karim Adeyemi and Gabriel Jesus also finding the net.

Raphinha opened the scoring after receiving a pass from Yamal before cutting into the penalty area, beating two defenders and finishing from close range. Barcelona continued to control possession in midfield, although their early passing produced little immediate danger.

Feyenoord struggled to break through Barcelona’s defensive shape as the Spanish side searched for a second goal. Dani Olmo tested the goalkeeper with a shot from outside the penalty area, while a further effort from Jules Kounde went wide.

Barcelona doubled their advantage through Karim Adeyemi, who produced an excellent strike from outside the box. Joao Cancelo then came close to adding a third, but his effort from inside the area struck the left post.

Feyenoord’s Anis Hadj Moussa created one of the Dutch side’s better opportunities before the interval, but his powerful shot was saved by the Barcelona goalkeeper. Yamal also tried a free-kick from distance, although it went narrowly wide.

Barcelona began the second half on the front foot and extended their lead when Pedri supplied Raphinha, who finished confidently from inside the penalty area. Feyenoord were briefly threatened by a corner, but Pau Cubarsi cleared the delivery successfully.

The visitors had a goal ruled out when Nacho Ferri was found to be offside. Nacho was later flagged for another offside offence as Feyenoord attempted to respond.

Barcelona made a series of substitutions, while Feyenoord also changed personnel twice during the second half. A Barcelona player was shown a yellow card, and Raphinha won a free-kick in midfield as the home side maintained control.

Yamal then made it 4-0 with a superb free-kick from outside the penalty area, sending the ball into the net with a precise strike. Barcelona also saw Karim Adeyemi shoot from inside the box, although the attempt was blocked by the Feyenoord defence.

Feyenoord pulled a goal back through Sem Steijn, but Barcelona quickly restored their four-goal advantage. Yamal delivered a cross into the area and Gabriel Jesus met it with an excellent header to complete the scoring.

The result reflected Barcelona’s authority for much of the match. Their short passing and control in midfield limited Feyenoord’s opportunities, while Raphinha and Yamal provided the decisive attacking quality.

The match also featured Luciano Valente, Tobias van den Elshout, Rodri Hernandez, Gavi, Goncalo Borges, Charles Vanhoutte, Fermin Lopez, Shaqueel van Persie, Marc Bernal, Anthony Gordon, Xavi Lopez, Osama Targhalline and Joao Cancelo among the players listed. Feyenoord’s Nacho Ferri was involved in the disallowed goal, while Yamal, Raphinha, Pedri, Adeyemi and Gabriel Jesus were central to Barcelona’s emphatic victory.
