Asyut Petroleum’s matches moved to Borg El Arab Stadium for Egyptian Premier League season

The Egyptian Clubs Association has moved all of Asyut Petroleum’s fixtures from Asyut Cement Stadium to Borg El Arab Stadium.

The decision applies to the club’s matches in the first phase of the Egyptian Premier League and its group-stage games in the Egypt Capital Cup. The fixtures will be played at the new venue on the same dates and at the same times that had been announced previously.

The association informed the clubs involved in the league of the change in an official letter, confirming that Asyut Petroleum will no longer host its scheduled matches at its original ground.

The Egyptian Premier League is due to begin on 21 August, with the first phase scheduled to finish on 20 February.

This season’s competition will be played over two stages. The opening phase will consist of a single round-robin league, with each of the 20 teams playing 19 matches.

At the end of that stage, the table will be divided into two groups for the final phase. The six highest-ranked teams will compete for the title, while the teams finishing from seventh to 20th will enter the relegation battle.

Each club will carry forward the same number of points it earned during the first phase. The final-phase standings will then be determined within the relevant group, with both groups playing another single round-robin schedule.

If two or more clubs finish level on points, their positions in the table will be settled according to Article 15 of the competition regulations.

The bottom four clubs in the second group of the final phase will be relegated to the division below, the Professional League.

The relocation means every Asyut Petroleum fixture covered by the association’s announcement will be staged at Borg El Arab Stadium rather than Asyut Cement Stadium. The move includes both the first stage of the league campaign and Asyut Petroleum’s group matches in the Egypt Capital Cup, while leaving the previously established kick-off dates and times unchanged.
