English side Aston Villa are preparing to go all out to sign England forward of Nigerian descent, Eberechi Eze.
According to sources, the English Premier League club has shortlisted the Crystal Palace sensation as their priority signing for the 2025 summer transfer window.
With growing concern at Villa Park over Arsenal’s interest in attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers, the Midlands club are now stepping up their efforts to land Eze as a potential alternative.
FootballTransfers reports that Arsenal’s pursuit of Rogers has intensified in recent weeks, with the Gunners’ new technical director Andrea Berta identifying him as a key addition to their attacking options.
There is a belief within Villa that should Arsenal table an offer in excess of €58 million (£50m), they may be forced into a tough decision.
As a result, Villa have ramped up their interest in Eze in recent days, with sources suggesting talks could move quickly if the Rogers situation progresses further.
Eze with his quality won’t come cheap. Villa will reportedly need to pay around €65 million to Crystal Palace to be able to sign the winger.
The Nigerian’s future will become clearer in July.
