Maxi Oyedele has become one of the hottest names in this summer’s transfer window, with Anderlecht showing interest in the Polish midfielder.
The 20-year-old, who plays for Legia Warsaw, is valued at €6 million, a fee that could prove challenging for the Belgian side.
Born in Salford, England, to a Polish mother and Nigerian father, Oyedele’s unique heritage has drawn attention beyond Poland. He made his debut and first start for the Polish national team in a match against Portugal on 12 October 2024.
While Anderlecht remains keen, competition is stiff. Club Brugge, PSV, Werder Bremen, and two Championship clubs have also set their sights on the English-born talent. Their financial muscle might give them the edge.
Any move could also benefit Manchester United, who are due to receive 40% of the transfer fee as part of a previous agreement. Oyedele’s rise on the international stage, paired with strong club performances, makes him a sought-after asset.
