Anas Karami, a prominent businessman and former player at Wydad Casablanca’s sports academy, has outlined the broad strokes of his candidacy for the presidency of Wydad, should the current president, Abdelmajid Beranaki, announce his resignation and convene an extraordinary general assembly.
Karami’s comprehensive project, as revealed by “Parlement Sport,” includes a range of commercial ventures under the Wydad brand.
This includes the establishment of a physical museum with admission fees, launching a paid streaming platform for exclusive club content, forging partnerships for joint promotional activities, and developing a commercial licensing program to market official Wydad products.
Additionally, he proposes offering sports tourism packages to capitalize on the club’s global popularity and Morocco’s allure as a tourist destination.
Karami places a strong emphasis on governance within the club, advocating for the creation of a general management and six departments to prioritize administrative and financial management.
In his proposal, Karami expresses his intention to reduce membership fees to allow all Wydad supporters to join the club’s parliament, simplifying the membership process with flexible and comprehensive pricing.
He also emphasizes the need to upgrade the club’s infrastructure to enhance sporting performance, bolster the club’s brand identity, fulfill its societal commitments, and contribute to revenue growth.
