AmaZulu strengthen squad with Cote d’Ivoire defender Zouzou Landry and goalkeeper Siphelele Zulu

AmaZulu have announced the signing of Cote d’Ivoire U23 international central defender Zouzou Landry and the return of goalkeeper Siphelele Zulu as coach Arthur Zwane continues to reshape the squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The move for Landry was first reported by iDiski Times, with the 25-year-old joining the Premier Soccer League club from Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC.

AmaZulu, also known as Usuthu, have brought in Landry to add experience and defensive depth to Zwane’s team as they seek an improved season. The defender spent the previous campaign with Azam FC and has also played for AFAD Plateau in Cote d’Ivoire.

Landry developed at ASEC Mimosas, where he progressed into the senior set-up before moving on to other clubs. He was born in the northern part of Abidjan and has represented Cote d’Ivoire at under-23 level.

The defender said he was pleased to move to South Africa and welcomed the chance to play in the country’s top-flight competition.

“I am very happy to be in South Africa and to play in the PSL,” said Landry.

Zulu, 24, has also completed a return to AmaZulu after previously leaving the club for spells with Hout Bay United and Pretoria Callies. He spent a season at Pretoria Callies on loan from Usuthu.

The goalkeeper was born in Gingindlovu and has now returned to the club he considers home. He will compete for a place in AmaZulu’s goalkeeping group as the team prepares for the new season.

“I am happy to be back home at AmaZulu,” said Zulu.

The two arrivals represent the latest transfer-market activity by AmaZulu, with Zwane continuing to strengthen his squad before the 2026/27 campaign begins.

Landry’s arrival provides the Durban-based club with an international centre-back who has experience outside Cote d’Ivoire, while Zulu’s return adds familiarity and further competition in goal.

AmaZulu’s announcement confirms the pair have joined the club as the side works towards a stronger campaign under Zwane.
