AmaZulu name starting XI for MTN8 semi-final spot against Sekhukhune United

AmaZulu will face Sekhukhune United on Sunday afternoon for a place in the MTN8 semi-finals, with the KwaZulu-Natal side naming its starting team for the tie.

AmaZulu qualified for this season’s competition after finishing fourth in last season’s league campaign. Arthur Zwane’s side will be aiming to improve on their performance in the previous MTN8, when they were eliminated by Stellenbosch FC in the opening round.

The club has reached the MTN8 final once before, in 2022, but lost to Orlando Pirates.

Sekhukhune United also have recent experience of progressing deep into the competition. Babina Noko reached the semi-final stage of last season’s MTN8, although Stellenbosch FC ended their run after winning the tie over two legs.

Sekhukhune finished fifth in last season’s Betway Premiership standings, three points behind AmaZulu.

AmaZulu will begin the match with Kouassi in goal, while Radebe, Allan, Fielies and Hanamub make up the defensive line.

Mdaka, Moralo and Zikhali are included in midfield, with Ngwenya, Maqokolo and Mbanjwa selected in attack.

AmaZulu’s substitutes are Mzimela, Mthethwa, Bern, Mhlongo, Hlangabeza, Sithole, Mokoena, Lekoloane and Mashigo.

Sekhukhune United’s starting line-up had not been confirmed at the time of publication.
