AmaZulu add Amstel as new sleeve sponsor in latest commercial deal

AmaZulu FC have expanded their commercial portfolio after agreeing a sponsorship partnership with multinational brewing company Amstel.

Under the deal, the Amstel brand will appear on the sleeve of AmaZulu’s playing kit, giving the Durban-based club another established commercial partner.

AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu said the agreement represented more than an opportunity to increase the club’s shirt visibility. He described it as an important step in defining the direction of the organisation and strengthening its links with supporters.

“Today is an important moment for the club. We’re welcoming a new partner [Amstel], but we are also reflecting on what AmaZulu Football Club stands for and where we want to go next,” Zungu said.

“The standing that Amstel and AmaZulu Football Club enjoy today has been earned over time. Both understand that respect tells gold.

“This gives us a strong foundation for a partnership that can grow with meaning rather than simply visibility. It is not just about visibility. The strongest partnerships do not ask either side to become something else.

“They build on values both already recognised. This partnership creates an opportunity to add value where it matters the most – around the team, our supporters and the wider AmaZulu community.”

The agreement is the latest part of AmaZulu’s efforts to broaden their commercial reach and develop relationships that can support the club away from the pitch.

It follows the club’s announcement in September 2026 of a strategic youth development partnership with Spanish club Levante UD. That agreement underlined AmaZulu’s ambition to build links that also contribute to football development.

Amstel’s partnership with AmaZulu means the brewing company now has agreements with two Premier Soccer League clubs. Orlando Pirates were the first, and also count Amstel among their commercial partners.

For AmaZulu, the deal adds another recognised brand to their commercial stable and offers the club an opportunity to create further value for Usuthu supporters and the wider football community.
