Canadian forward with African roots, Alphonso Davies has stressed that he wants to stay at FC Bayern Munich for a longer period.
The versatile defender signed a five-year contract extension deal last month, ending speculation about a potential transfer to Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid.
Speaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s Uefa Champions League clash against Bayer Leverkusen in mid-week, the player born to Liberian parents indicated that he sees himself spending at least five more years at the German club.
“I’m very happy and buzzing to have extended my contract at Bayern. It was a long time coming, but we got the job done. I see myself in Munich for the next 5 years or even longer,” Alphonso Davies said.
Checks have revealed that after his contract extension, the talented defender is earning almost €15 million a year at Bayern Munich.
At just 24 years old, Davies has many years ahead of him and could spend a decade at the club.
This season, he has scored two goals and provided three assists after making 18 appearances for Bayern Munich in all competitions.
