Alidu Seidu returns to Rennes squad as OGC Nice consider late transfer

Alidu Seidu has returned to full training with Stade Rennais and has been included in the club’s Europa League squad, despite uncertainty over his future.

The Ghana international was expected to leave Rennes throughout the summer but remained at the club after failing to secure a move before the official transfer window closed.

His return to normal team activities in Brittany has not ended interest in his services, with other Ligue 1 clubs continuing to monitor the defender.

OGC Nice remain keen on Seidu and are considering whether to make a quick move for him using the French joker rule. The regulation allows a club to sign a player from another team in France outside the usual transfer window.

Rennes must now decide whether to retain a versatile player for their European campaign or complete a late sale to a direct Ligue 1 rival.
