Farid Boulaya and Yacine Brahimi both found the back of the net as Al Gharafa and Al Wakrah played out a 1-1 draw in the Qatar Stars League, with each player scoring a memorable goal in a closely contested encounter.

With Al Gharafa already out of the title race but still battling for qualification to the AFC Champions League 2, the stakes remained high for Brahimi’s side.

That urgency, however, was met with an early setback. In the 23rd minute, a critical error from Al Gharafa’s goalkeeper gifted Al Wakrah a golden chance.

Farid Boulaya, the Cameroonian-Algerian playmaker, seized the opportunity with confidence, curling a composed effort into an unguarded net. The goal was his fifth of the campaign, a testament to his consistency in front of goal.

But the lead was short-lived.

Just six minutes later, Brahimi responded in style. The Algerian international, known for his flair and sharp attacking instincts, delivered an equally elegant goal to level the score.

A swift exchange with Ferjani Sassi saw Brahimi drift into the box before bending a clinical finish beyond the keeper in the 29th minute.

It marked his ninth goal of the season, reinforcing his status as one of the standout attacking talents in the league.

The remainder of the match maintained its intensity, with both sides looking for a breakthrough. While neither club managed to add to their tally, the game showcased two of North Africa’s finest exports delivering in decisive moments.

For Al Wakrah, the result had little consequence in terms of league standings. Their mid-table position was already secured, and the draw merely reaffirmed that status.

For Al Gharafa, the point was enough to secure qualification for the AFC Champions League 2, bringing some reward to a season that has seen mixed fortunes.

Beyond the result, it was the individual performances of Brahimi and Boulaya that caught the eye.

The duel between the two attacking midfielders, both gifted with vision and finesse, brought a sense of flair and competitiveness to a match that could easily have drifted into insignificance.

As the league campaign nears its conclusion, the spotlight continues to shine on players like Brahimi and Boulaya — not only for their technical brilliance but for their ability to influence games when it matters most.

For fans of Algerian football and followers of the Qatari league, this clash served as another reminder of the talents both men bring to the pitch.

In the end, the honours were shared, but both players walked away with moments of personal satisfaction — Brahimi adding to his impressive goal tally and Boulaya reaffirming his importance to Al Wakrah with a goal crafted from both opportunity and intelligence.
