Alban Lafont: French goalkeeper agrees surprise move to Amedspor for 2026-27 season

Amedspor have reached an agreement to sign French goalkeeper Alban Lafont for the 2026-27 season, in what would be one of the most eye-catching transfers in the club’s history.

The 27-year-old, widely regarded as one of the notable French goalkeepers of his generation, is set to join the Turkish club as part of their long-term squad planning.

In a statement announcing the deal, the club confirmed they had “reached an agreement with Alban Lafont, one of the important goalkeepers in French football, aged 27”.

High-profile addition

Lafont brings extensive top-flight experience from both France’s Ligue 1 and Italy’s Serie A, having established himself as a regular at a high level from a young age.

The goalkeeper has previously played for Toulouse, Fiorentina and Nantes, building a reputation as a reliable and athletic presence between the posts. His performances in Ligue 1, in particular, have seen him recognised among Europe’s more prominent goalkeepers outside the traditional elite clubs.
