Al-Qadsiah target Lorient defender Montassar Talbi in Saudi Pro League move

Tunisian defender Montassar Talbi is being linked with a move from FC Lorient to Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah.

The 28-year-old centre-back remains under contract with Lorient until 30 June 2027, meaning any transfer would require an agreement between the clubs. Talbi has started both of Lorient’s Ligue 1 matches this season, completing every minute.

Talbi joined Lorient from Rubin Kazan in July 2022 in a deal reported at €1.5m. He helped the French club win the second-tier title in the 2024-25 season before returning to Ligue 1.

The Paris-born defender has also featured in all three of Tunisia’s matches at the 2026 World Cup, starting each game. He has represented Tunisia despite also holding French nationality.

Al-Qadsiah’s reported interest comes with Talbi established in Lorient’s first-choice defence at the beginning of the new campaign. His current market value is listed at €8m, while his existing contract gives Lorient protection as discussions over a possible move develop.

No transfer has been confirmed, and the available details do not indicate whether a formal offer has been made. For now, Talbi remains a Lorient player with two years left on his current deal.
