Al Nassr close to four-year contract extension for Nawaf Boushal

Al Nassr are close to securing the future of right-back Nawaf Boushal, with the club having reached a near-final agreement with his agent over a four-year contract extension.

According to a source cited by Al-Riyadiyah, Al Nassr’s management has made significant progress in negotiations with Ali Al-Rumaih, Boushal’s representative, following a series of direct discussions in recent weeks.

The financial details and other terms of the proposed agreement are expected to be finalised in the coming period before the club makes an official announcement.

Boushal is approaching the final six months of his current contract and will enter the free-agency period in January. That would allow him to negotiate with other clubs, increasing the importance of Al Nassr’s efforts to complete the renewal.

The 27-year-old joined Al Nassr from Al Fateh in January 2023 on a five-season professional contract. Since then, he has become one of the players regularly relied upon at right-back.

Boushal has made 138 appearances for Al Nassr, scoring three goals and providing 19 assists. He has also received 15 yellow cards and been sent off twice.

He was part of the Al Nassr side that won the Saudi Pro League title last season, further strengthening the club’s desire to retain him as part of its plans for the coming years.

Boushal has also established himself at international level with Saudi Arabia, making 31 appearances for the national team.

He was included in the Saudi Arabia squad that won the Gulf Cup on 6 October. Saudi Arabia secured the title with a 2-0 victory over the United Arab Emirates.

That international success has added to Boushal’s importance to both club and country, while Al Nassr seek to conclude the agreement and keep him at the club beyond the remaining term of his current deal.
