Al Nassr and Al Qadsiah mystery deal sparks major Saudi football speculation
Reports of a potentially groundbreaking agreement between Al Nassr and Al Qadsiah have raised the prospect of one of the most controversial and closely watched deals in Saudi football in the coming period.
The two clubs are understood to be preparing a move that could go well beyond a conventional transfer, although no players, financial terms or timetable have been disclosed.
Saudi journalist Saud Al-Sarami revealed the development during an appearance on Al Arabiya FM, where he said a major agreement was being prepared between the clubs. However, he stopped short of identifying the individuals involved or explaining the precise nature of the proposed arrangement.
“There will be a deal of the century between Al Nassr and Al Qadsiah, but I will not reveal the details,” Al-Sarami said.
His comments have prompted widespread speculation over whether the development could involve the transfer of a prominent player, an unprecedented agreement between the clubs or another form of cooperation.
Al-Sarami added: “Perhaps it will be an exchange of players or something else, but what I can confirm is that it will be a deal of the century.”
The journalist’s remarks suggest that the proposed move is not expected to be an ordinary transaction and could become a major talking point across Saudi football. Even so, his comments did not include any confirmation of the names involved, the value of the deal or when it might be completed.
The possibility of a player exchange between Al Nassr and Al Qadsiah has therefore emerged as one of several potential scenarios. Other than Al-Sarami’s description of the agreement, there has been no official information from either club to clarify what is being discussed.
The reports come as both Al Nassr and Al Qadsiah pursue ambitious objectives, making any direct collaboration between them a matter of significant interest to supporters. Attention is now focused on whether the proposed deal concerns established players from either squad or whether it could involve an even larger surprise.
Saudi football’s transfer market has continued to generate major developments, with clubs regularly reviewing their squads and assessing the strongest available options. Against that background, the possibility of a high-profile agreement between these two sides has attracted particular attention.
A separate reference was also made to comments by Waleed Al-Farraj about the future of the president of Al-Ittihad, although those remarks were not linked to the details of the proposed Al Nassr-Al Qadsiah agreement.
For now, the “deal of the century” remains an intriguing claim rather than a confirmed transfer. Until further information is released, all possibilities remain open, including a player swap or another type of arrangement. Nevertheless, the striking description has already fuelled intense debate among Saudi football supporters and placed both clubs firmly at the centre of attention.
