Youssef En-Nesyri to leave Al Ittihad

Morocco international striker Youssef En-Nesyri could be heading for an early exit from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad, with the club considering parting ways with him in the current transfer window.

The 29-year-old forward only joined the Jeddah-based club during the previous winter transfer window after leaving Turkish side Fenerbahçe, but his future at the club has reportedly become uncertain just months into his stay.

According to reports, Al-Ittihad are exploring the possibility of ending their relationship with En-Nesyri as part of their plans for the new season. However, no official statement has been released by the club regarding the striker’s situation.

En-Nesyri arrived in Saudi Arabia with a strong reputation following his successful spells in European football, particularly in Spain and Turkey, where he established himself as one of the most reliable goalscorers from North Africa.

The Moroccan forward was expected to add significant firepower to Al-Ittihad’s attack, but reports indicate that the club’s management is now assessing changes to its squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Since making the move to the Saudi Pro League, En-Nesyri has made 13 league appearances, scoring six goals. Although his goal return has been respectable, it appears the club could be considering other options as it continues to reshape its squad.

The potential departure of the striker would come as a surprise given the short period he has spent at Al-Ittihad and the expectations that surrounded his arrival.

Throughout his career, En-Nesyri has been regarded as one of Morocco’s most important attacking players. He played a key role in the Atlas Lions’ historic run to the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finals and has consistently delivered goals at both club and international level.

His aerial ability, physical presence, movement inside the box and experience in major competitions make him an attractive option for clubs searching for a proven striker.

Should Al-Ittihad decide to place him on the transfer market, interest is expected to emerge from clubs in Europe and the Middle East, with En-Nesyri still possessing significant value despite his uncertain situation in Saudi Arabia.

For now, the Moroccan international remains an Al-Ittihad player, but the coming weeks could prove decisive as the club finalises its plans ahead of the new season and determines whether the striker remains part of its future project.
