Real Betis push to re-sign Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat

Real Betis are reportedly stepping up their efforts to bring Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat back to the club.

The Spanish outfit have identified the 29-year-old midfielder as a priority target as manager Manuel Pellegrini seeks to strengthen his midfield before the closer of the summer window.

Amrabat is no stranger to Betis, having previously played in Spanish football, and the club are believed to be interested in securing his return as they prepare for the demands of the new season.

Pellegrini reportedly views the Morocco international as a player capable of providing additional protection in front of the defence while also bringing experience and tactical discipline to the midfield.

However, negotiations could prove difficult because of Fenerbahçe’s financial demands.

The Turkish club are not expected to make Amrabat available cheaply, leaving Betis exploring different structures that could make the deal financially viable.

One option being considered is a season-long loan with a purchase option, which would allow Betis to bring Amrabat back to Spain immediately while postponing a permanent transfer decision until a later date.

Another possibility is for the Spanish club to negotiate a permanent deal involving instalment payments, potentially allowing them to spread the financial commitment over an agreed period.

Amrabat is reportedly open to a return to Spain, which could strengthen Betis’ position as they attempt to convince Fenerbahçe to reach an agreement.

Despite the player’s reported willingness to make the move, no agreement has yet been reached between the two clubs.

The midfielder’s current situation at Fenerbahçe has also added another layer of uncertainty. Amrabat is reportedly training individually as he waits for clarity over his future during the final days of the transfer window.

With the deadline approaching, Betis will have to move quickly if they want to complete the deal.
