Al Ahly rejects €500,000 offer for Slovenian striker Nejc Gradisar
Al Ahly have reportedly rejected an official €500,000 offer from a Russian club for Slovenian striker Nejc Gradisar amid uncertainty over the player’s future at the Cairo-based side.
As per reports, the unnamed Russian club approached Al Ahly in the current summer transfer window with a formal proposal aimed at securing the services of the forward ahead of the new season.
However, despite the financial offer being placed on the table, negotiations reportedly collapsed after the Russian side demanded that Al Ahly continue paying part of Grandsir’s salary throughout the duration of his contract.
According to the report, Al Ahly’s management immediately rejected the condition, refusing to bear any portion of the striker’s wages if the player leaves the club permanently this summer.
The situation has further intensified speculation regarding Gradisar’s long-term future at the Egyptian giants, especially amid reports that the club is actively attempting to reduce its wage bill before the start of the new campaign.
Further reports suggest that Al Ahly have already held discussions with the player’s representatives regarding a possible salary reduction. The Slovenian attacker is reportedly among the highest-paid foreign players currently at the club, prompting management to seek adjustments to his financial package.
However, Gradisar’s agent is said to have firmly rejected the proposal, insisting that the player intends to continue under the existing terms of his contract without accepting any salary cut.
The disagreement has created fresh uncertainty around the striker’s position within the squad, particularly as Al Ahly continue their search for a new foreign forward to strengthen the attacking department.
The club’s technical staff, led by Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta, are reportedly waiting for the recruitment of another striker before making a final decision on whether Gradisar will remain at the club or be allowed to leave during the current transfer window.
Al Ahly are believed to be planning major adjustments to their squad as they prepare for the upcoming season, with management eager to improve balance within the team while also reducing financial pressure caused by high salaries.
Despite the uncertainty, Gradisar remains under contract with the Red Devils, and no final decision has yet been made regarding his future. The coming days are expected to be decisive as negotiations continue behind the scenes and interest from abroad persists.
The Slovenian forward’s situation has now become one of the key talking points surrounding Al Ahly’s summer transfer activity, with fans closely monitoring whether the club will keep the striker or eventually sanction his departure before the transfer window closes.
