Al Ahly and Zamalek learn opponents in 2026 African Handball Club Championship draw

The draws for the men’s and women’s African Handball Club Championship were held on Thursday at the headquarters of the African Handball Confederation in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The 47th edition of the competition will take place in Angola from 4 to 14 October 2026.

Al Ahly and Zamalek will represent Egypt in the men’s tournament, while Al Ahly will also compete in the women’s event.

Men’s tournament

Al Ahly have been placed in Group B alongside Angolan side Inter Club and Ivory Coast’s Renaissance.

Zamalek will play in Group C, where they will face Ethiopia’s Mikal and Fito from Cameroon.

The men’s competition features four groups, with three teams in each group.

Women’s tournament

Al Ahly’s women’s team will compete in Group A.

They will face Primeiro do Agosto of Angola, FAP of Cameroon, Abidjan of Ivory Coast and Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The women’s competition has been divided into two groups, each containing five teams.
