Akor Adams urges Nigeria to look forward before Madagascar qualifier

Akor Adams has called for optimism within Nigeria’s camp as the Super Eagles begin their qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations against Madagascar.

Speaking to Footy-Africa on the eve of Friday’s match, the FC Venise striker said the mood in the squad was positive and that the players were prepared for the new campaign.

Nigeria finished third at the last Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, but that achievement was followed by the disappointment of missing out on the 2026 World Cup.

Adams believes the national team must now move on from that frustration, while asking supporters to continue backing the Super Eagles as they start their latest qualifying challenge.

The striker wants the public to accompany the team throughout the campaign and has set his sights on making a direct contribution to Nigeria’s results during the international window.

The Super Eagles’ objective is to secure six points from their two fixtures. They will begin at home against Madagascar before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau.

Nigeria host Madagascar on Friday, 25 September, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The match will be the first of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
