Akinsanmiro to swap Inter Milan for Monza in €7.5m deal

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is set to leave Inter Milan for Monza after the two Serie A clubs reached full agreement on a permanent transfer for the Nigeria international midfielder.

The deal, according to Fabrizio Romano, is worth €7.5m and includes a 10% sell-on clause in favour of Inter Milan should Monza move the player on in the future.

Inter have not inserted any buy-back option into the agreement, underlining that the 21-year-old’s exit from San Siro is a definitive one rather than a move with a view to a later return.

Permanent switch after loan spells

Akinsanmiro joined Inter’s academy at the start of 2023 and has spent much of his time in Italy developing away from the club on loan.

The central midfielder gradually increased his game time through spells at Sampdoria and Pisa, where he built up first-team experience in Italian football.

Last season he made 22 appearances in all competitions, starting 13 of those matches, in what is viewed as a highly encouraging campaign for a player still in the early stages of his career.

Long Inter contract cut short

Akinsanmiro had been under contract with Inter Milan until 2029, but will now make a significant step in his career by joining Monza on a permanent basis.

On Transfermarkt, his market value is currently listed at €7m, close to the fee agreed between the clubs.

The move represents a new chapter in Italy for the young Nigerian, who will aim to convert his promising loan performances into a regular role at Monza once the transfer is finalised.
