Beerschot are assessing free agent Amine Rehmi, while Malian striker Gaoussou Diakite has joined Roc Nation Sports in two of the main developments from Africa-focused football on 6 October 2026.
The 24-year-old winger has been without a club since leaving Rio Ave at the start of September. Rehmi, who is of Moroccan origin, is now training with Beerschot as he searches for his next opportunity, according to HBVL.
Rehmi previously played for Cambuur and TOP Oss. He featured for Beerschot in a friendly against AA Gent last Friday, with the club evaluating whether he can provide an additional option in wide areas for the remainder of the Challenger Pro League season.
Sheger City sign Ethiopia goalkeeper
Ethiopian Premier League side Sheger City have completed the signing of goalkeeper Dereje Alemu.
The move follows a pre-season training camp at Adama City and comes just before Sheger City begin their Premier League campaign against Ethiopia Bunna.
Alemu has formally joined the club after spells with several top-flight teams, including Dashin Beer, Woldia City, Adama City, Dire Dawa City, Hadiya Hossana and Addis Ababa City. He has also represented second-tier side Debre Berhan City.
Duisburg end Jonas David trial
MSV Duisburg have decided against offering a contract to defender Jonas David after ending his trial period.
The former Hamburg and SSV Ulm 1846 player joined the club’s training sessions at the end of September and appeared in several friendlies for the German side, NRZ reports.
Sporting director Chris Schmoldt confirmed the decision yesterday. He said a deal would not fully address the club’s current requirements, while praising the exemplary attitude of the 26-year-old German-Nigerian defender.
David has remained without a team after spending several months out with a cruciate ligament rupture suffered in October 2025.
Diakite becomes first Malian at Roc Nation Sports
RB Salzbourg forward Gaoussou Diakite has left management agency BlackSkill to sign with Roc Nation Sports.
The move was arranged by former Mali international Aboubacar Tambadou, who represents the American company locally. Diakite is the first Malian footballer to join the agency, founded by Jay-Z.
He now becomes part of a roster that includes internationally known players such as Vinicius Junior, Endrick, Yan Diomande, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Martinelli and Romelu Lukaku.

Mauritania international Ibrahima Keita has joined Libyan club Al Sadaqa after leaving Esperance de Tunis as a free agent.
The move has been confirmed by his new club and launches a fresh chapter for the 24-year-old defender.
Keita previously played for TP Mazembe, 93 Bobigny and Academie Bamako.
