AFCON 2027 qualifying: Comoros and Namibia level at half-time

Comoros and Namibia were level at half-time in their Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying match at the Maluzini Stadium in Moroni.

The Cœlacanthes and the Brave Warriors are meeting in the second round of qualifying, with both sides targeting three points from the game.

It is Hubert Velud’s first match in front of the Comoros supporters. His side made the stronger start and controlled possession during the opening 45 minutes, enjoying 64% of the ball.

However, Comoros were unable to turn their dominance into clear attacking rewards. Namibia remained organised and disciplined without possession, limiting the hosts’ opportunities to break through.

The Brave Warriors defended in a compact shape in front of their back line, closing down the available spaces and providing cover around the edge of the penalty area.

Both managers now have the interval to adjust their tactical plans as they look for a winning second half. The three points are an important objective for both teams.
