AFCON 2027 qualifiers: Tunisia, Uganda, Libya and Botswana face difficult Group H challenge
Group H of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers is expected to deliver fierce competition as Tunisia, Uganda, Libya and Botswana battle for places at Africa’s biggest football tournament.
With qualification spots on the line, every match in the group could play a major role in deciding who advances to the finals set to be hosted in East Africa.
Tunisia will enter the qualifiers as favourites because of their experience and strong record in African football. The Carthage Eagles have consistently appeared at major tournaments and will hope their quality and discipline can guide them safely through the group stage.
Uganda are also expected to put up a strong challenge. The Cranes have improved in recent years and will be motivated to perform well ahead of the 2027 tournament, which Uganda will co-host alongside Kenya and Tanzania.
Libya and Botswana will equally be eager to upset the favourites and fight for qualification in what promises to be a highly competitive Group H campaign.
The road to the 2027 finals will be contested across three distinct FIFA international windows, beginning later this year.
Matchdays 1 and 2 are scheduled for late September and early October 2026, followed by Matchdays 3 and 4 in November. The campaign will reach its climax in March 2027 with the final two rounds of fixtures.
